The skyhook-io/radar project has released version k8s-ui-v1.14.3, introducing an optional capability for hosted agents to explain saved assessments. According to the project's GitHub release notes, this feature allows hosted agents that implement the assessment-bound, tool-free explanation contract to expose the existing "Explain simply" interaction. Hosts can opt into this functionality using the AgentInfo.assessmentExplanations flag. Unsupported hosted agents will continue to hide explanation generation when no saved explanation exists. The change is additive and does not modify local-agent behavior or hosted Apply restrictions.
Operators planning to upgrade should verify whether their hosted agents support the explainAssessment request contract, as this capability depends on backend implementation. Hosted agents that do not opt in will not expose the new functionality, and unsupported agents may still hide explanation generation. Additionally, operators should confirm that their frontend integrations align with the updated UI gating logic, which now resolves capability from the agent associated with the investigation rather than a global hosted flag. This shift in resolution could impact workflows relying on hosted assessments.
